The Sublette County Conservation District (SCCD) was formed on October 15, 1986 when the Big Piney and Pinedale Conservation Districts combined to form a county-wide district.
The SCCD was formed to provide leadership for the development, conservation, and protection of Sublette County's natural resources.
The SCCD is a legal subdivision of the Wyoming State Government and helps coordinate assistance from a variety of sources (private, county, state, and federal).
Technical assistance is furnished to the SCCD through a cooperative agreement with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service Pinedale Field Office.
The SCCD provides assistance to:
- Ranchers
- Individuals
- Managers retained by absentee landowners
- Small acreage landowners
- Companies and consultants associated with oil and gas development
- Groups (youth and adult)
- Local, state and federal units of government
- Realtors
